Self-Contained Gifted and Talented Education (GATE) Program
At Rocklin Elementary, our Gifted and Talented Education (GATE) Program is dedicated to identifying gifted and high-achieving students, including those from diverse racial, socio-economic, linguistic, and cultural backgrounds, and providing them with high-quality, differentiated instructional opportunities that nurture their unique strengths and abilities.
Our GATE Program offers differentiated learning experiences during the regular school day through our self-contained GATE classes. Differentiation involves adapting the curriculum content and teaching methods to allow students to learn at their ability level and pace. Instructional strategies may include flexible grouping, acceleration, in-depth study, complexity, and novelty to challenge and engage students in meaningful ways.
